Poutuarongo Toi Whakarākai graduate from Te Wānanga o Raukawa, Wirihana has carved for several years now and has developed a unique style of presenting carved form and narrative utilising bold design features into significantly sized recycled native timber. Wirihana has maintained this unique style by focusing on creative expressions drawn from his personal practise in reiki and his whānau influences. Wirhana's grandmother Taumata Renata wove kete whakairo for many years during her Māori Womens Welfare League activities.
